Ardor

Entering into dialogue with Marianna Rodziewicz’s sculptures, the performance Ardor looks at animated monstrosity and its embodiment — is it a punishment, a form of pleasure, a celebration of sexuality, a kind of metamorphosis? What sort of movement and body image is produced by the encounter between the monstrous and the sexual? Moving between references to BDSM, abject, and horror, the performance awakens a body hungry for transformation in its existing form.
